Decorated Candle

This month's Whiff of Joy DT project was to decorate a candle. This is a lovely idea for a small present to someone during christmas time. The DT had so many different and inspirational ideas - fabulous!! Thanks girls!! Have a look at their blogs to learn how they made their decorated candles :)

I bought a large candle at Ikea and the pretty little pot is also from there. I used the wonderful Bo Bunny Paper I got from Paperbasics. I love the nostalgic touch of those papers, perfect for Elisabeth's images. I used her Melinda Christmas Angel from Whiff of Joy Stamps. I did some sewing, used some SU christmas rubOns, my Martha Steward doily lace punch et voilà ;)
Here is a picture of how I did the overlaying wing. I carefully cut around the wing first as far as the oval Nestabilities would go. Then I put the Nestability oval underneath it. This is a great effect. I put a lot of glitter on her wings and the scarf.

Please take a look at the other projects of the month, maybe you want to join in and also try to decorate a candle :)
I would like to send you over to Claire's blog. I was so touched by the happiness we can provide with one simple card. Everybody who has children will understand what I am talking about :)

this is gorgeous! I love how you did the candle and I too love to give decorated candles as gifts. Thank you also for showing how you did the oval under her wing- I can't believe I did not know how to do that with nesties LOL! I only knew how to cut with squares or rectangles free hand without using nestabilities.
