Ah, the weekend :) We have lovely weather over here. I can feel spring already :)

Ah, das Wochenende! Wir haben heute sehr schönes Wetter, das uns schon einen Vorgeschmack auf den Frühling gibt :)

I altered one of those cheap Ikea mirrors lately as a present for a friend. I wanted to keep it simple, but elegant, because that's exactly her style :)

It is a pity that you can't see the fine texture of the background on the large picture, that's why I also took the below one. I used the Stampin' Up background stamp "Stitched" and stamped with Versamark ink directly on the wooden mirrow. I added "iridiscent ice" embossing powder from Stampin' Up and heat embossed it to get the fine, shimmery background all over the mirrow.
The white felt fusion is self adhesive, I simply added some halfpearls. The sentiment is from a SU rubOn.

Thanks again for all your lovely get well wishes. Actually I started feeling a lot better yesterday after staying in bed as much as I could for the last two days :)

Ich habe so einen billigen Ikeaspiegel etwas aufgepeppt als kleines Geschenk für eine Freundin. Ich wollte ihn eher nüchtern, aber trotzdem elegant halten, da dies genau ihr Stil ist :)

Leider kann man auf dem großen Foto die zart schimmernde Textur des Hintergrunds nicht gut sehen, weswegen ich auch noch die Detailaufnahme gemacht habe.
Mit dem Stampin' Up Hintergrundstempel "Stitched" und Versamark Tinte habe ich den gesammten Spiegel bestempelt und dann "iridiscent ice" embossing Pulver darübergestreut und embosst.
Die weissen Filzschnörkel sind selbstklebend, ich habe nur ein paar Halbperlen dazugeklebt. Der text ist von einem Stampin' Up RubOn.

Ich danke euch herzlich für all eure lieben Genesungswünsche. Es geht mir seit gestern auch wirklich schon besser, nachdem ich die letzten 2 Tage so viel wie möglich im Bett verbracht habe :)

I used Henry the celebrating mouse designed by Alison Acton for Whiff of Joy Stamps for my little birthday card. I cut him with my round petite Nestabilities from Spellbinders and layered him with bashful blue and pirouette pink cardstock from Stampin' Up. The pink paper is embossed with the argyle embossing folder from Cuttlebug.

Generating text yourself for Nestabilities & co.

I got some questions about how I create my custom texts on the computer so that they fit differents shapes and dies.
So I decided to explain it in this short, separate post. It is really easy actually :)

Ich habe ein paar Fragen erhalten wie ich meine am Computer selbstgeschriebenen Texte so hinbekomme, dass sie in die verschiedenen Formen der diversen Dies und Stanzer passen. Ich will dies nun kurz in dem folgenden Beitrag erklären. Es ist eigentlich wirklich einfach :)

I use CorelDraw, which is a graphic software, to create my sentiments. But I guess any other free graphic program will do. I don't use a text editing program like Word etc., because you don't have the possiblities with those programms.
Lets start with an easy one. Let's say you want to generate a sentiment which shall fit in the following shape (which is the largest of the Spellbinder's tags trio dies, which I love to use on my cards :)Ich verwende CorelDraw, ein Graphikprogramm, um meine Texte zu erstellen. Aber es geht auch mit jedem anderen, gratis Graphikprogramm. Ich verwende kein Texteditierprogramm wie z.B. Word, da man damit nicht dieselben einfachen Möglichkeiten hat.
Am Besten fangen wir mit einem einfachen Beispiel an. Und zwar nehmen wir an, wir wollen einen Text für die obige Form entwerfen. Es handelt sich um das größte der Spellbinder's tags trio dies, die ich sehr gerne auf meinen Karten einsetze.

The Spellbinders tag measures 4,5x2 cm, so I start to draw a rectangle of the same size which I use as a guideline.

Der Spellbinders tag mißt 4,5x2 cm, deswegen zeichne ich ein Rechteck mit den selben Maßen, das mir als Hilfsform dient.

I can then easily design my text and fit it to the size of the rectangle, knowing that it will also fit the die.

Dann kann ich einfach meinen Text designen und der Größe des Rechtecks anpassen, mit der Sicherheit, dass er auch die richtige Größe für den Stanzer haben wird.

After I completed the design of the text, I simply deleted the rectangle around it and print it. That's it :)

Nachdem mir der Text endgültig gefiel habe ich einfach das Rechteck drumherum wegelöscht und den Text ausgedruckt. Das ist alles :)

If you want to fit a text to a round shape, just draw a circle in your graphic program which has the same diameter as the die you want to use.
Wenn ihr einen Text in eine runde Form einpassen wollt, dann verfahrt ihr genauso wie voher. Zeichnet in eurem Graphikprogramm einfach einen Kreis als Hilfsform.

You can either just put the text in it the way it is, or you can use some lovely features to fit the text to the shape. Corel Draw, for example, makes it possible to align a text to a shape.
Entweder setzt ihr den Text so wie er ist in den Kreis, oder ihr verwendet ein paar aufwendigere features eures Graphikprogramms. Corel Draw zum Beispiel macht es möglich einen Text an einem bestimmten Objekt auszurichten.

It is then possible to change the distance and the position of the text to the shape.
Es ist dann möglich den Abstand und die Position des Textes zu der Form zu ändern und zu gestalten wie man will.

In the end just delete the circle and print your customized text.

Happy Tuesday! I am sorry for my continuing abscence, but I had to see the doctor again today. The antibiotics didn't help, so he told me that it is possibly a virus infection, which can take weeks... *doh*

Einen schönen Dienstag wünsche ich euch! Es tut mir leid, dass ich immer noch nicht zu meiner Regelmäßigkeit im Posten zurückgefunden habe. Ich mußte heute wieder zum Arzt, da die Antibiotika nichts geholfen haben. Er meinte, dass es sich um eine Virusinfektion handelt, die Wochen andauern kann... *doh*

I nevertheless managed to do a little card yesterday for the 2nd birthday of my son's friend Noah. I used the cute Hänglar & Stänglar boy and coloured him with Copic Sketch Markers.

I generated the text on the computer and cut it with my Spellbinders tags trio die.

I got some questions about how I do my sentiments on the computer and how I do it that they fit the dies and Nestabilities. I will do an extra post about it tomorrow :)

Ich habe es trotzdem geschafft eine Karte für den 2. Geburtstag von Noah, ein Freund meines Sohnes, zu machen. Ich habe den süßen Hänglar & Stänglar Jungen mit Copic Sketch Markern coloriert. Der Text ist am Computer generiert und dann mit einem Spellbinders tags trio die ausgestanzt.

I used Maribelle the cow for my swiss greeting card. The sentiment is hand written and means "Greetings friom Switzerland". All the papers are from Crate Paper. I sponged their borders with a brown inkpad.
Ich habe Maribelle die Kuh für meine schweizer Grußkarte verwendet. Der Text is handgeschrieben. Alle Papier sind von Crate Paper. Ich habe die Ränder mit einem braunen Stempelkissen gewischt.

I have a lovely friend in Sweden who does me a favour from time to time (now you can guess again and try to assume which favour someone from SWEDEN could possibly do me?? :)

Was ist das beste Geschenk, das eine Kartenbastlerin einem lieben Menschen schenken kann?? Natürlich!!! Ein Kartenset...haha Ok, das war leicht ;)
Ich habe eine liebe Freundin in Schweden, die mir von Zeit zu Zeit einen Gefallen tut (ok, jetzt könnt ihr wieder raten... Was für einen Gefallen könnte mir jemand, der in SCHWEDEN wohnt wohl machen?? ;)
I decided to send her a little something to say thanks you. She loves selfmade cards so I thought of a set of cards, which I don't need hours to make, but look nice nevertheless.
I started with a computer generated sentiment, which would fit in my round Nestabilities. It means "Good luck and Happy birhtday". I used one of my favourite Stampin' Up design paper sets "Parisian Summer", because they coordinate so lovely and used my Martha Steward doily lace punch to give it a little extra touch. SU kraft cardstock to matt everything, then some ribbon ... é voilà!

Ich beschloss meiner Freundin ein kleines Dankeschön zu schicken und da sie handgemachte Karten liebt lag es nahe ein Set zu schicken. Ich wollte natürlich nicht stunden mit 1 set zubringen, aber nett sollte es schon aussehen. Also startete ich mit einem Computer generierten Text, der in meine runden Nestabilities passen sollte. Es heißt übersetzt "Viel Glück und Alles Gute zum Geburtstag!". Eines meiner liebsten Stampin' Up Motivpapiere mußte herhalten (die sind sowas von ergiebig :) "Parisian Summer". Die passen immer so schön zusammen. Mit dem Martha Steward doily lace punch habe ich noch das gewisse Extra hinzugefügt. Hinterlegt ist alles mit Kraft cardstock von Stampin' Up. Dann noch etwas Band...é voilà!

I put some SU crystal effects and glitter on the tiny hearts and 2 halfpearls above and below "Lycka till".

I hope you like my simple mass production. I guess I will do some more in the near future to have some small presents in stock :)

I did the scalopped border with a SU punch and stamped the little signs with the coordinating SU stamp set.
Den gewellten Rand habe ich mit einem Stampin' Up Stanzer gemacht. Die kleinen Zeichen kommen aus dem passenden Stempelset von SU.

I coloured Willow with water-soloble pens from Caran D'Ache and Twinkling H2Os. I used glitter pens from Spica to colour all the small details of the image and a white gel pen to highlight certain areas.

Coloriert habe ich Willow mit Supracolor Aquarellstiften von Caran D'Ache und Twinkling H2Os. Mit Glitzerstiften von Spica habe ich all die kleinen Details des Motivs coloriert und mit einem weissen Gelstift Akzente gesetzt.

The sentiment is from the Whiff of Joy "general sayings" set. I used Spellbinder's petite circle Nestabilities to cut it out.

Oh boy, it snowed like mad during the night and now we are burried under the white gold ;)
And I am still ill (have to take antibiotics, which don't help at all), which is such a shame, because I wanted to have some fun with my kids in the snow.

Ach du meine Güte, hat es hier geschneit während der Nacht. Wir sind total eingeschneit. Und zu allem Unglück bin ich immer noch krank, muss Antibiotika nehmen die überhaupt nicht helfen, und wollte doch so gerne mit meinen 2 "Wilden" ;) im Schnee toben.

Today's card is for the High Hopes challenge of this week (remember that the HHRS Guest Designer Call is still open!). The challenge is Hoppy Easter but if you don't have any bunnies or chicks or lambs, just think spring!

• My friend Heather asked me what ink and paper I use with Copic Markers, because her ink tends to bleed. I use Memento Fade-resistant Dye Ink tuxedo black (thanks Rach for the tip!) and am really satisfied with the results. I stamp my images on Whisper White cardstock from Stampin' Up.
• Meine Freundin Heather hat mich gefragt welche Tinte und welches Papier ich mit den Copics verwende, da sie bei ihr oft verschwimmt. Ich verwende Memento Fade-resistant Dye Ink tuxedo black (Danke Rach für den Tipp!) und bin sehr zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Als Papier verwende ich Whisper White cardstock von Stampin' Up.

I got a few questions about Twinkling H2Os after my colouring tutorial last week, so I decided to write a short informational post about them, which will hopefully help.

Ich habe einige Fragen zu den Twinkling H2Os erhalten, nachdem ich mein Colorationstutorial letze Woche gezeigt habe. Deswegen schreibe ich hier ein paar Informationen über sie zusammen, die euch hoffentlich weiterhelfen werden.


Twinkling H2Os are available in 156 colours, they are solid and come in little pots. Those pots are available in two sizes. Just take the smaller pots, they last forever!
Most of the time I only use my Twinklings to deepen the colours and set some accents of my images which I already coloured with water soluble pens. The above image shows my favourite colours (which are based on personal preferences).
I use Poppy Red for cheeks, Moss Green and Cinnamon Brown for the ground, Blue Grass and Ocean Wave for backgrounds.

Just use a watertank brush or a simple brush with your Twinklings. I like to put a drop of water into the pots before I start using them, this way the colour dissolves in advance.

I bought my Twinklings on ebay, because the time I started colouring with them, they weren't available in many shops over here.

Ich verwende meine Twinklings meißtens nur dafür die Schattierung meiner mit Aquarellstiften colorierten Motive zu intensivieren. Das obige Foto zeigt meine bevorzugten Farben (das ist aber nur eine persönliche Preferenz).

Ich benutze Poppy Red für Wangen, Moss Green und Cinnamon Brown für den Boden, Ocean Wave und Blue Grass für den Hintergrund.

Ihr könnt eure Twinlings einfach mit dem Wassertankpinsel oder einem normalen Pinsel verwenden. Ich tropfe auch noch gerne etwas Wasser in die Töpfchen, bevor ich sie verwende, um die Farben etwas anzulösen.

Ich habe meine Twinklings über Ebay gekauft, da sie zu der Zeit als ich mit ihnen angefangen habe, nicht in vielen Shops erhältlich waren. (Aber das hat sich mittlerweile geändert).

Sorry for the late post today, but my whole family is suffering from a bad cold, so nothing is running as smooth as always ;)
