Thank you all for you rlovely and uplifting comments about my computer problems. Marcel (my husband) managed to set up my new laptop properly yesterday and I can even receive new mails *yay*. What a nightmare the last couple of days have been :)

I had a sunny feeling yesterday and incorporated this into my card, which shows the WoJ citrus tree and the coordinating sentiment, which were part of the WoJ Summer stamp kit.
Charisma Cards pose the challenge to use dots or circles on our cards, so I am entering mine.

Ich hatte gestern eine sonnige Stimmung und habe diese in meine Karte eingebaut. Sie zeigt das WoJ Zitrusbäumchen und den dazu passenden Text, beides war Teil des WoJ Sommer Stempel Kits. Charisma Cards hat diese Woche als Herausforderung Kreise und Punkte auf unseren Karten zu verwenden, also reiche ich meine Karte ein.

I coloured the image with Copic Sketch Markers and airbrushed the background with Y21 (Buttercup Yellow).

A jester card

The worst thing which could happen, did happened... first my internet connection was gone, then my whole laptop broke... *arghhhh* My lovely husband Marcel is working to set up a new one for me, but this is taking it's time. At least I already have internet on the new one, so that I can write this post, but I don't have my email accounts installed, all my old mails are gone, and even all my photos and files are still unaccessible on my old laptop. *doh* I hope to be back to normal after the weekend, so please bare with me :)

Das schilmmste, dass meinem aktiven Blogger Leben passieren könnte, ist tatsächlich passiert... zuerst ist meine Internetverbindung flöten gegangen und dann ist der ganze Computer nicht mehr hochgefahren. *arghhh* Mein lieber Mann Marcel arbeitet wie ein verrückter daran mir einen Neuen aufzusetzen, aber das braucht natürlich seine Zeit. Zumindest konnte er mir schon Internet einrichten, damit ich dieses Post schreiben kann. Aber meine Email Accounts sind noch nicht installiert, all meine alten sind futsch, und sogar meine Bilder liegen unerreichbar auf dem alten Computer *doh* Ich hoffe, dass ich nach dem Wochenende wieder voll einsatzfähig bin, habt also bitte Geduld mit mir :)
My card for this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge, with the theme "Bit o' Bling", features Jester Charlie from Whiff of Joy Stamps. He is just so junny :) I used Cosmo Crickets "Ever After" paper collection, which is such an elegant paper collection. The sentiment is from the "Fairy Usefuls sayings" collection, designed by myself.
Before I am off, I want to leave you with the news that we received some new Elisabeth Bell stamps at the Whiff of Joy headquarter, which might be her best collection so far :) So stay tuned for some previews and more updates. There is a new release approaching ;)

Meine Karte für die dieswöchige Cute Card Thursday challenge, mit dem Thema "Ein bisschen Glitzer", zeigt den lustigen Hofnarr Charlie von Whiff of Joy Stamps. Ich habe ihn mit Papier von Cosmo Cricket (Ever After Kollektion) kombiniert, wodurch er plötzlich sehr elegant wirkt :) Der Text ist von "Fairy Usefuls sayings" collection, die ich selbst designed habe.
Ich möchte euch noch mit den Neuigkeiten ins Wochenende schicken, dass wir brandneue Stempel von Elisabeth Bell im Whiff of Joy Hauptquartier bekommen haben. Sie sind einfach nur traumhaft und bis jetzt vielleicht sogar ihre beste Kollektion. Also schaut wieder rein für ein paar Vorschaun :) Ich fühle einen neuen Release näher kommen!

I am back - with pictures :)

We returned from our short trip to Legoland Germany this afternoon. One day later than expected, but we simply had to stay one night longer - it was so much fun!!!
Wir sind heute Nachmittag von unserer Kurzreise in das Legoland Deutschland zurückgekommen. 1 Tag später als geplant, wir konnten nicht wiederstehen eine Nacht zu verlängern - es war einfach zu toll!!

Niklas, Noel and I. Yes, I have short hair now (what a bless!! We had over 30 °C) and I just discovered onthis picture that it starts turning gray... *ahhh* ;)

Wow, the boy's big hero - Bob the builder. The 4D movie was really great. If you are wondering why Noel is only wearing his underwear... well, the pirates got hold of us and we got kind of VERY wet :)

Wow, der große Held meiner Jungs - Bob der Baumeister. Der 4D Film war wirklich sehenswert. Wenn ihr euch wundert warum Noel nur mehr seine Unterwäsche trägt... Naja, die Piraten haben uns erwischt und wir wurden SEHR naß :)

After seeing the above picture, I realised that I was witness of pickpocketing - someone tried to steal Bob's tools while we took this picture - how shocking!!! ;)

Nachdem ich das obere Foto in Großauflösung gesehen habe, fiel mir auf, dass ich Zeugin eines Taschendiebstahls war - jemand hat versucht Bob's Werkzeug zu stehlen - heutzutage ist aber auch nichts mehr heilig!! ;)

Maybe we ate too much on our trip - look at those tummies :)

Pink and Brown - HHC #32

I am away to Legoland with my 3 men ;) for two days and sceduled this post to go up on monday morning. I hope it works.

Ich verbringe 2 Tage im Legoland mit meinen 3 Männern ;) und habe diesen Beitrag "vorprogrammiert. Ich hoffe es funktioniert.

Pink and Brown is the challenge at the High Hopes blog this week, which has been set by the lovely and talented Tab from the High Hopes Design Divas. I used another of my new High HOpes images, illustrated by the wonderful Crissy Armstrong. Do you think this is why the stamp is called Crissy's snuggle bear? :) I gave this card to Isabella, my godchild, whose babtism was yesterday.

Pink und Braun ist diese Woche die Herausforderung auf dem High Hopes blog, gestellt von der talentierten Tab aus dem High Hopes Design Team. Ich habe ein weiteres meiner neuen High Hopes Motive, illustriert von der fantastischen Crissy Armstrong, verwendet. Glaubt ihr der Stempel heißt deswegen Crissy's Kuschelbär? :) Ich habe diese Karte für Isabella, mein Taufkind, gemacht. Ihre Taufe war gestern.

Colouring faces with water soluble pens and Twinkling H2Os

Happy weekend to all of you!! I promised you ages ago to show how I colour faces with my technique. And today I will keep this promise :)
As most of you might already know I use water soluble pens from a company called Caran D'Ache (I have Supracolors, but Prismalos are equally valuable) for the base colouration of my images.
For more intensity and shading, I also use Twinkling H2Os.
I stamp my images with StazOn jet black ink (which is water-resistant) on 300g watercolour paper from a company called Canson. It is a very thick, textured paper, with a strong surface. This way it doesn't rub off too easily if you go over the same spot with your waterbrush multiple times. Good quality paper is very important for this technique.

Ich wünsche euch allen ein schönes Wochenende! Vor einiger Zeit habe ich euch versprochen zu zeigen wie ich Gesciher meiner Motive coloriere. Dieses Versprechen werde ich heute einlösen :)
Viele von euch wissen wahrscheinlich schon, dass ich am liebsten mit Aquarellstiften der Firma Caran D'Ache (Ich habe die Supracolor, aber auch die Prismalos sind genauso hochwertig) für die Basiscoloration verwende. Anschließend nehme ich Twinkling H2Os, um die Farben und Schattierungen zu intensivieren. Ich stemple mit StazOn jet black Tinte (die ist wasserfest) auf 300 g schweres Aquarellpapier der Firma Canson. Das Papier ist von einer sehr hohen Qualität, mit einer starken Oberfläche, die nicht so schnell aufreisst wenn man mit dem Pinsel mehrmals über die selbe Stelle geht. Ein qualitativ hochwertiges Papier ist für diese Technik unerlässlich.

It is really easy and you don't need a lot of different colours for faces and other undressed body parts. I use 051 Salmon Supracolor pen, Poppy Red (Twinkling H2O), a watertank brush and tissue paper to rub off colour from my brush. The image is Whiff of Joy's Maid Charlotte from the medieval collection.

Es geht wirklich leicht und ihr braucht nicht viele verschiedene Farben für Gesichter und andere unbekleidete Körperteile. Ich verwende 051 Saumon (Lachsfarben) meiner Supracolors, Poppy Red (Twinkling H2O), einen Wassertankpinsel und Küchepapier um zu viel Farbe von meinem Pinsel zu streichen. Das Motiv ist Whiff of Joy's Magd Charlotte aus der Mittelalterkollektion.

I start with putting a lot of 051 Salmon on around her face. The light shall come from the left side, so I don't put colour on there. This way, the face will be of a lighter colour in this area.

Ich beginne damit viel Farbe mit 051 Saumon rund um ihr Gesicht aufzutragen. Das Licht wird von Links kommen, deswegen lasse ich es dort frei, damit die Partie nachher heller erscheint.

Now I use my watertankbrush to dispense the colour with small rotating motions. Try to always go from the darker to the lighter areas to get a good shading. If you have too much colour on your brush or if it is too wet, simply stroke it off on your tissue paper. Don't stop for too long, otherwise you will get ugly water stains.

Jetzt verwende ich meinen Wassertankpinsel um die Farbe aufzulösen und mit kleinen, kreisenden Bewegungen über das Gesicht zu verteilen. Achtet darauf immer von der Farbe in die hellen Bereiche zu malen, damit ihr Schattierung bekommt. Wenn ihr zu viel Farbe auf dem Pinsel habt, oder er zu naß ist, dann streicht ihn einfach am Küchenpapier ab. Macht nicht zu lange Pausen, da ihr sonst häßliche Wasserflecken bekommt.

I am ready with the base colouration of the face (a bit pale, isn't she? ;) and continue with the arms and her neck.

Ich bin mit der Basiscolouration des Gesichts fertig (immer noch ein wenig blass, nicht? ;) und mache mit den Armen und dem Hals weiter.

Now it is time for the little shimmery Twinkling H2O pot. I love Poppy Red, but you shouldn't take too much. Otherwise your girl will look sunburnt :) I dip into the Twinkling pot with my brush, just a little bit, and colour her cheeks. I then stroke off the brush on tissue paper immediately and only dispense the colour left on the paper.

Jetzt kommt Poppy Red von Twinkling H2O an die Reihe. Eine tolle, intensive Farbe, aber ihr solltet nicht zu viel von ihr nehmen, ausser eure Figur soll einen Sonnenbrand haben ;)

Ich nehme die Farbe direkt mit meinem Wassertankpinsel aus dem Töpfchen und male die Wange. Danach wische ich den Pinsel sofort an dem Küchenpapier ab, und vermale nur mehr die Farbe, die schon auf dem Papier ist.

This way, the face gets a darker, more natural looking colour.

So erhält das Gesicht eine dünklere, natürlichere Farbe.

I continue with the second cheek. You can repeat this as often as you like to achieve the colour intensity that you want. In the end, I add some more colour directly on the cheeks, only trying to blend the outer parts of the cheeks and not to move over the center with the brush anymore. This way the cheeks stay very intense and rosy.

Ich male nun auch die zweite Wange. Ihr könnt diesen Vorgang so oft wiederholen, bis ihr die gewünschte Farbintensität im Gesicht erreicht habt. Ganz am Schluss trage ich nochmal etwas rot direkt auf die Wangen auf und vermale nur mehr den Rand. Ich gehe mit dem Pinsel nicht mehr direkt über die Mitte der Wangen, damit sie schön intensiv rosig bleiben.

If you want to set some additional highlights with lighter spots, simply go over the area with a clean brush multiple times. This takes away the colour. I did this in the center of her face.

Wenn ihr zusätzliche Highlights durch helle Passagen setzen wollt, dann müßt ihr einfach nur mit einem sauberen Pinsel mehrmals über diese Stellen streichen. Dadurch wird die Farbe wegegenommen. Ich habe das in der Mitte des Gesichts gemacht.

The same procedure goes with the arms and the neck.

Das selbe Vorgehen könnt ihr am Hals und bei den Armen anwenden.

Two cards from dear friends and what I will be doing today :)

Today there is a national holiday here in Switzerland. The weather is fantastic and we will spend a lot of time outside with the kids and have lunch in a small, ancient castle on the hills (Castle Weinstein). Wohoo, no cooking for me today ;)

Heute ist ja Feiertag. Wir werden den Tag und das schöne Wetter genießen :) Zu Mittag geht es dann in ein kleines, altes Schloss auf den Hügeln des Nachbardorfes zum Mittagessen (Schloss Weinstein). Juhuu, dann muss ich mal nicht selber kochen ;)

Congratulations - Graduation card

I needed to create another graduation card, but I also wanted to use one of the new Whiff of Joy Stamps from the Elisabeth Bell summer stamp kit. So I simply used my beloved graduation cap stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps to dress Willow up :) That was a lot of fun and I am very happy how perfectly the stamps matched.

Ich mußte eine Karte für eine Hochschulabsolventin machen, wollte aber unbedingt einen weiteren der neuen Whiff of Joy / Elisabeth Bell Sommer Stempel verwenden. Also habe ich einfach meine wirklich praktische Abschlusskappe von High Hopes Rubber Stamps verwendet und sie Willo wauf den Kopf gesetzt. Das war ein Spaß und ich bin ganz begeistert wie gut die Stempel zueinander passen :)
The card is A5 size again, I like to do big cards for such commissions. The paper is from My Mind's Eye (Bella Bella collection). I used some different Fiskars border punches and a Spellbinders Piercability die to get the rolling border with the halfpearl in the middle.

Die Karte ist wieder A5, ich mache gerne größere Karten für Auftragsarbeiten. Das Papier ist von My Mind's Eye (Bella Bella Collection). Ich habe verschiedene Kanten Stanzer von Fiskars verwendet und ein Piercability von Spellbinders für den sanft geschwungenen Rand mit der Perle in der Mitte.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up, the lucent flower and the button is from a Making Memories "flowers and button" jar.

I also decorated the inside of my card. I could resist to use another owl chipboard from tattered Angels, it fits the theme so perfectly ;) The sentiment was also included in the Whiff of Joy / Elisabeth Bell Summer Stamp kit.

Ich habe ausserdem das Innere der Karte dekoriert und konnte einfach nicht widerstehen noch eine Eule zu verwenden. Sie paßt einfach zu gut zum Thema ;)

SOA - Stampin' Out Alzheimers

I got contacted by Susanna Boyd (the founder of Papercraft Planet ) some time ago.
They are hosting a charitable event called SOA (Stampin out Alzheimers) to raise money to fight this horrible disease. This huge event will take place from May 25th - June 1st.

Here is what Susanna says about SOA:
"I, along with a group of generous sponsors and challenge hostesses, have teamed up to create a temporary online community where members can take part in a variety of challenges, contests, classes and workshops, and download several free products (a special digital kit, a printable 3-d template, tutorials, etc) in different papercrafting categories (stamping, cardmaking, paperscrapbooking, digi scrapping, hybrid, etc). All this for a suggested donation of $5. 100% of these funds will be donated to the Alzheimer's Association to help with their efforts to provide and enhance care and support for all those affected by this heartbreaking disease."
