Guess what.... I was 1 day too early with the start of the Whiff of Joy /Elisabeth Bell Winter Stamp Kit, but I guess you are not sad about it...haha My poor brains ;)

Stellt euch vor... Ich war doch tatsächlich 1 Tag zu früh dran mit der Eröffnung der Vorbestellung für das Whiff of Joy /Elisabeth Bell Winter Stamp Kit. Ich nehme aber an, dass ihr mir deshalb nicht böse seit..haha Wo habe ich nur meinen Kopf? ;)

I wanted to share this heartwarming photo with you, which we took last sunday right before my dear husband Marcel had to leave for military service again. We miss him a lot and I am looking forward to saturday, when he can return home again for 1 day. (Sonja, I admire you for staying sane after not seeing your husband for so many months).

Ich wollte euch noch dieses herzerwärmende Foto zeigen, dass wir letzten Sonntag aufgenommen haben kurz bevor Marcel wieder zum Militärdienst aufbrechen mußte. Wir vermissen ihn schrecklich und freuen uns schon auf nächsten Samstag, wenn er wieder für 1 Tag nach Hause darf. (Sonja, ich weiss gar nicht wie du es aushältst, deinen Mann so viele Monate überhaupt nicht zu sehen. Ich fühle mit dir :)

Ahhh, the weekend!! My husband Marcel is back from military service until tomorrow evening and I really enjoy having him back. Also if it is only for 2 days. And yes, he really is that tall (some of you asked me after seeing the pictures from the Stamp Mekka :)

Ahhh, endlich Wochenende! Mein Mann Marcel ist für 2 Tage zurück vom Militärdienst bis morgen Abend und ich genieße es ihn wieder bei uns zu haben. Auch wenn es nur für 2 Tage ist.
Und ja, er ist wirklich sehr groß ( es haben mich einige darauf angesprochen, nachdem ich die Fotos vom Stempel Mekka gezeigt habe ).

I used a lot of new stash for this card (what is more fun?? LOL). First of all the new winter stamps from Whiff of Joy "Winter Love Birds" illustrated by Alison Acton. The, the fabulous Cosmo Cricket christmas paper, which I bought at the Stamp Mekka, together with flowers from Prima Marketing, a new Fiskars border punch and those adorable pearl brads from Making Memories.

Ich habe einiges meiner neuen Bastelsachen für diese Karte verwendet (was gibt es Schöneres?? haha). Allen voran natürlich einen neuen Winter Stempel von Whiff of Joy "Verliebte Winter Vögel", illustriert von Alison Acton. Dann das neue Weihnachtspapier von Cosmo Cricket, einen neuen Fiskars border Stanzer, Blumen von Prima und diese wunderschönen Perlenbrads von Making Memories.

Whiff of Joy Guest Designer for October/November

Thanks so much for your patience and all the fantastic entries for the Whiff of Joy Guest Designer Call. It was a pleasure for me to browse so all your blogs. Once again, I discovered so many talented crafting Ladies that it is impossible for me to just pick 1 or 2.
That's why I decided to announce 4!! Guest designers for the months October and November.
But that is not all... Don't panic if you are not mentioned below. I will announce the Guest Deigners for December and January tomorrow, so the excitement is becoming unbearable..haha

Danke für eure unendliche Geduld und all die traumhaften Beiträge zu dem Whiff of Joy Gast Designer Call. Es war toll eure Blogs zu besuchen und all die wunderbaren Werke zu bewundern (gut Ding braucht ja bekanntlich Weile :) Ich war überwältigt von all dem Talent, das mir begegnete und wieder einmal war es mir unmöglich nur 1 oder 2 Gast Designer auszuwählen. Deswegen gibt es für Oktober und November 4!! Gast Designer.

Tying the knot...

My brother in law and my friend Alexandra tied the knot yesterday. I had the pleasure to be her witness. It was a lovely day and evening. I gave my best to organise funny games, a power point presentation with pictures from their childhood, table decoration etc. (so I have a good excuse, why I have been so quiet lately :)
I also managed to do a personalised card for them.

Mein Schwager und seine Freundin Alexandra haben sich gestern das Ja-Wort gegeben. Ich hatte das Glück als Alexandra's Trauzeugin fungieren zu dürfen. Ich habe mein Bestes gegeben lustige Hochzeitsspiele, eine Power Point Präsentation mit Fotos aus der Kindheit, Tischdekoration usw. zu organisieren. (Ich habe also eine gute Ausrede warum es bei mir so still war in letzter Zeit :)
Ausserdem habe ich es sogar geschafft eine personalisierte Karte für die Beiden zu basteln.

I used Whiff of Joy's Wedding Carriage illustrated by Elisabeth Bell and coloured it with Twinkling H2Os. I used light green and white flower soft and some halfpearls to simulate the floral ornaments on the carriage. I also put some crystal effects on the bride's veil. I found this new EK Success border punch at the Stamp Mekka and I love how sharp they punch and the easy storage. The black crystal swirl is from Prima Marketing and simple to attach.

Ich habe Whiff of Joy's Hochzeitskutsche illustriert von Elisabeth Bell verwendet und mit Twinkling H2Os coloriert. Für den Blumenschmuck habe ich weißes und hellgrünes Flower Soft und ein paar Halbperlen verwendet. Über den Schleier habe ich crystal effects gestrichen.

Den neuen border Stanzer habe ich am Stempelmekka gefunden. Er ist von EK Succes und stanzt sehr scharf, ist zusammenklapbar und somit einfach zu versorgen. Der schwarze Schnörkel ist von Prima Marketing und sehr einfach anzubringen.

Today was the last day of the Stamp Mekka show at Hagen in Germany. We are still at the hotel, but will drive back home tomorrow. The past 2 days were absolutely exciting and so much fun, but let’s start at the beginning…

Heute war der letzte Tag des 18. Stempel Mekkas in Hagen (Deutschland). Wir sind immer noch im Hotel und werden morgen nach Hause fahren. Die letzten 2 Tage waren absolut aufregend und haben wahnsinnig Spaß gemacht. Aber lasst mich von Anfang an erzählen…

Marcel (my dear husband), Bettina (Whiff of Joy’s good soul and my right hand) and I started our journey at 11 am in Switzerland. 8 hours and lots of grey hair later (because of all the traffic jams), we arrived at the town hall of Hagen in the north of Germany to set up our booth for the largest stamp fair in the German speaking countries (The stamp Mekka). We spent a sleepless night at a local hotel, filled with weird dreams about a malfunctioning cash register, vanished stamps and standing at our booth without having customers all day… LOL I couldn’t eat any breakfast because of excitement (and that means a lot for me…haha). So we drove off to the town hall early to make the last preparations.

Marcel (mein lieber Mann), Bettina (Whiff of Joy’s gute Seele und meine rechte Hand) und ich starteten unsere Reise um 11 Uhr vormittags in der Schweiz. 8 Stunden und viele graue Haare später (wegen all den Verkehrsstaus) erreichten wir endlich die Hagener Stadthalle im Norden Deutschlands. Wir stellten bis halb 11 Uhr nachts unseren Messestand auf und verbrachten dann eine schlaflose Nacht in einem nahe gelegenen Hotel. Die Nacht war gefüllt mir Alpträumen von einer kaputten Kassa, vergessenen Stempeln, die für den Verkauf gedacht waren und einem Messestand, der ohne jeden Kunden, verlassen da stand….LOLIch konnte am Morgen kein Frühstück essen vor Aufregung, und das will bei mir schon etwas heißen…haha. Deswegen brachen wir früh zur Stadthalle auf, um die letzten Vorbereitungen zu treffen.

Sonja from Flati’s Basteleien and her friend Anne joined our team for Saturday. I was very grateful for the help and Sonja’s colouring demonstrations were highly appreciated by the stampers.

The Stamp Mekka was a unique experience for me. It was exciting and wonderful to meet so many online friends and fans of Whiff of Joy in person. Thanks to all of you for stopping by at our booth and for all the lovely words and compliments about our work.

Stamp Mekka - here we come!

Today is the day! We will be leaving for our first big stamp show at 10 am. After a 6 hour drive, we will arrive at Hagen in Germany to set up our booth for the largest stamping event of the year (at least in the German speaking countries :) I packed a lot of my pens, markers and Twinklings to do some colouring tutorials. So if you plan on coming, it would be great if you would stop by at the Whiff of Joy booth to say hello! I will be back monday late in the evening to share some pictures.

Heute ist der grosse Tag! Um 10h fahren wir los zu unserer ersten Stempelmesse (das Stempelmekka in Deutschland). Nach einer Fahrt von 6 Stunden sollten wir Hagen erreicht haben und hoffentlich nich fit genug sein um den Whiff of Joy Stand für morgen aufstellen zu können. Ich habe einen Berg Stifte, Marker und Twinkling H2Os eingepackt, und werde an unserem Stand colorieren. Wenn ihr auch kommt, dann wäre es toll, wenn ihr vorbeischaut um "Hallo" zu sagen :)

Nach unserer Rückkehr am Montag Abend habe ich hoffentlich ein paar Fotos für euch.

Stamp Mekka countdown and Special Guest

The largest stamp related fair of Germany takes place this weekend (Stamp Mekka September 12-13). Whiff of Joy will be there among a lot of other well-known companies. Did I already tell you that I am super excited?!?! LOL
We will have lots of stamps with us, some stamp kits (which are not available to purchase online anymore) and the brand new Henry Mouse Christmas stamps. (For those of you who can't come, please don't worry. Our new Henry the Mouse collection will be released in our webshop on September 15).

I am also very excited to announce that Sonja Wallrath (Whiff of Joy DT member and illustrator (also know as Flati) will join our booth on Saturday and demonstrate how she colors Whiff of Joy's images. I am looking forward to meeting a lot of you at our booth :)


Wohooo, das Stempelmekka rückt immer näher und wir sind schon mitten in den letzten Vorbereitungen für das aufregende Wochenende!! Diesen Freitag werden wir unseren Minivan bis unter das Dach mit Stempeln beladen und in Richtung Hagen losfahren. Mit im Gepäck sind unsere populären Stamp Kits (die ja online nicht mehr erhältlich sind) und die brandneuen Henry Maus Weihnachtsstempel (die offiziell erst am 15. September erscheinen.
Ich bin wahnsinnig aufgeregt :)

Ausserdem gibt es noch eine fantastische Ankündigung. Sonja Wallrath (Whiff of Joy DT Mitglied und Illustrator (auch bekannt als Flati) wird unseren Messestand am Samstag unterstützen und ihre Colorationstechnik demonstrieren. (Ich bin sicher sie hat auch noch Zeit für den einen oder anderen Plausch :) Also wenn das kein weiterer Grund ist um bei uns Vorbeizuschaun ;)

Call for help - Charitable Act & new Christmas stamps

My friend Erin (Scrap, Stamp and be Merry) told me about a terrible accident which happened to her 13 year old neighbor Paige. She lost her arm in a boating accident recently and is now recovering in the hospital. She and her family are going through a very hard time and my heart is suffering with them. Erin is calling for help to cheer Paige up (a positive mood is the best help during recovery). And what would be better than flooding her hospital room with cards from all over the world? I already got my card ready and will post it on monday. You can read all the details on Erin's blog. It would be great if some of you would join in and send a card to Paige:

Meine Freundin Erin (Scrap, Stamp and be Merry) erzählte mir vor ein paar Tagen von einem schrecklichen Unfall, in den ihre 13 jährige Nachbarin Paige verwickelt war. Ein Speedboot rammte das Kajak mit dem sie während ihres Urlaubs fuhr. Sie bfindet sich momentan im Krankenhaus, wo ihr die Ärzte einen Teil ihres Arms amputieren mußten. Ihr Schicksal schockierte mich zutiefst und mein Herz flog ihr und ihrer Familie entgegen. Erin startete einen Aufruf auf ihrem Blog um Paige aufzumuntern (eine positive Gemütsverfassung hilft ja am Besten beim Gesung Werden :) Und was wäre da besser als ihr Krankenhauszimmer mit Karten aus der ganzen Welt zu überschwemmen? Ich habe meine Karte schon fertig gemacht und werde sie am Montag los schicken. Ihr könnt alle Einzelheiten auf Erin's blog lesen. Es wäre schön, wenn ihr auch eine Karte für Paige übrig hättet :)
