“Hello! I am Kathy aka "distressed stamper". I am a mother to three wonderful little girls and wife to a hardworking fellow who supports my need to be a SAHM for my girls. I started cardmaking about 3 years ago.

I come from a very creative family but I always thought I missed that gene until I started papercrafting! It is a great outlet for my creativity and also important for some "me" time!

I love the beautiful Whiff of Joy images and find such inspiration from the DT. That is why I am so excited to be a guest for a couple months! Thanks so much Katharina for having me! “

I hope you spend a lovely christmas with your family and friends!
My parents in law celebrated together with us at our house, which was a wonderful event. The kids had a blast and my PiLs were happy to be with us :)

Today I have a small chocolate gift to show you. I decorated the bagtopper with Whiff of Joy’s Wee with christmas stocking stamp, which I coloured with Twinkling H2Os.

Face: Almond Beige, Poppy Red (Cheeks)

Hat & Stocking: Pink Cloud, Poppy Red, Black Orchid

Stocking: Summer Breeze, Moss Green, Forest Green

Shirt: Blue Ice, Ocean Wave

I use white vellum to punch the snowflakes with a SU punch, the beautiful iced flowers were a present from my friend Claudia. The die cuts are from My Mind’s Eye, I distressed all the edges.

Ich hoffe ihr hattet schöne Weihnachtstage. Bei uns war es sehr geruhsam. Meine Schwiegereltern haben den heiligen Abend bei uns verbracht, worüber wir uns sehr gefreut haben.

Heute zeige ich euch ein kleines Schokoladengeschenk. Den Bagtopper habe ich mit Whiff of Joy’s Wee mit Weihnachtsstrumpf dekoriert.

Für die Schneeflocken habe ich meinen neuen SU Stanzer und weisses Transparentpapier benutzt. Die wunderschönen, verschneiten Blumen sind ein Geschenk meiner Freundin Claudia. Die Stanzteile sind von My Mind’s Eye, die ich rundherum noch mit einem braunen Stempelkissen gewischt habe.

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar – Window 24

Today we are opening the last window of my Advent Calendar 2009. I hope you had as much fun as I had during the past weeks. I would like to take the chance and thank you, my blog readers, for all the lovely comments and for the time you take to visit my blog. Time is one of the most valuable goods we have, so I appreciate it very much!

Today’s window opens upon the first Whiff of Joy release of the new year 2010 (at the start of January). It is a charming collection called “Happy Mail” illustrated by Alison Acton. One lucky person will get the whole set of stamps (8 different designs) before everybody else.
Heute öffnen wir das letzte Fenster meines Advent Kalenders 2009. Ich hoffe ihr hattet genauso viel Spaß wie ich in den letzten Wochen (auch wenn der Kalender nur auf Englisch geschrieben war, was aus zeittechnischen Gründen nicht anders möglich gewesen ist :) .
Ich möchte die Gelegenheit nutzen und all meinen Blog Lesern für die lieben Kommentare des letzten Jahres danken und auch für die Zeit, die ihr aufwendet um meinen Blog zu besuchen. Zeit ist eines unserer kostbarsten Güter, deswegen weiss ich es sehr zu schätzen.

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar – Window 23

Only one more night, then it is christmas eve! Tomorrow we will open the last Window of my Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar and you don’t want to miss the final grand give away!!
The nasty flu finally also hit my children and me (only hubby is still unaffected) We went to see the doctor yesterday – NIklas even has tonsilitis and has to take antibiotics.
Well…. we try to make the best of it and still have a good time, although it is quite difficult :)

Welcome to Window 21 of the Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar. Wow, time is flying – only 3 more days until christmas eve – and there are still so many things to do!! I haven’t packed any of the kid’s presents, the tree is still growing in our garden (waiting for my father in law to cut it down…LOL) and I have to plan and do all the food shopping for the holidays (stores are closed on the 24th, 25th and 26th over here). I guess I need to get started…haha

Christmas is already around the corner and I am not at all in the mood for it..haha
I really wished I was a child again and could experience the pure excitement of christmas again, without all the stress and commitments – just the pure joy :)
At least on christmas eve itself, I still get the magic feeling when I look at my children. So I am looking forward to the 24th.

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar Window 17

The kids and I spend a lovely afternoon at a “Kasperltheater” show (my translator told me that it is called “Punch and Judy show” in english, but I am not sure if this is the correct translation) at our local shopping center. It is a kind of hand puppet show with a funny guy called Kasperl. We had a blast and my boys were applauding and shouting “Bravo” :)

Today’s card is another masterpiece created by the super talented Rach, whose creations are always full of heart :)

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar Window 16

Thanks so much for your kind words for my grandfather!

Christmas is a magic tradition. Especially for our children. I can’t wait for my boy’s bright eyes when they see the christmas tree with all it’s candles. Anticipation is what makes this season even more special. We love to read a christmas story every day, light a lot of candles in the evening and sing carols.

The wonderful scrap shown below is from Lacey and features Willow with Toddler.

Every year I'd wait for the season
Only Christmas time can bring
I thought I understood the reason
For all the parties and caroling

Every year I'd search for the meaning
Every time I'd dress the tree

Whiff of Joy Advent Calendar Window 15

Did you buy all your christmas presents already? I am awfully behind and I guess it will be last minute shopping this year. Tomorrow I will go to our local electronics store to see if they have an easy to use mp3 player in stock. My grandfather (84 years old) suffers from eye cataract and can’t read at the moment (which was his most favourite hobby). I am very worried that he will get depressed, so I am planning on loading a few audio books on the mp3 player for him to listen to.

He will have an eye surgery in mid January and I wished he would have such a beautiful christmas angel, like the one on Jeanette’s romantic card below, to help him trough it.

Reach for an angel high on a star;
